CII Personal Leadership Toolkit

Research has shown that the performance level of construction projects has a 68% to 82% positive association with the leadership competency of the person in charge. Yet, most people and companies leave the development of their leadership skills to chance, or follow the example of one successful person or another. This module, intended for individual contributors, team leaders, and mid-level managers, will present some of the most effective, evidence-based tools developed at Arizona State University by the instructor, Dr. Avi Wiezel. These immediately implementable tools and concepts consist of:

  1. The four levels of leadership
  2. Counter-intuitive wisdoms about assessing a person's readiness for promotion
  3. Identifying and acquiring the competencies project managers need today and in the future
  4. The most common thinking pitfall - the red tie syndrome
  5. How to harness your sources of influence
  6. Reading the communication needs of others
  7. How to run effective meetings
  8. Rescuing the "Project from Hell"

Instructor: Avi Wiezel
