Certificate of Safety and Health Official

General Information

The Certificate Safety and Health Official is our intermediate level professional certificate program.

This program is designed to advance the participant's knowledge of specific safety and health topics relevant to the area of specialization chosen. The CSHO certificate can be earned in as little as 9 - 12 months.

Participants can choose from specialization options, and can complete more than one specialization. Each specialization requires a separate application and fee and all classes listed for that specialization must be completed.  Three options are available, including Construction, General Industry, or Healthcare.

To earn this professional designation, simply complete the following steps:

  • Determine the industry specialization
  • Take the required courses
  • Enroll in and pay for the SSH Class (these have a stagnant date - but can be enrolled in and completed at any time)
  • Submit application with copies of course completion certificates to oshaed@asu.edu
  • OSHA Education Center at ASU will review and issue your Public Entity Safety Certificate

This professional certificate can be earned as a standalone credential. It does not provide academic credit. Download more information using the links on this page, or contact OSHAED@asu.edu.

Estimated cost to complete the CSHO program is $4,000
