National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents 


Struck-by incidents are a leading cause of death among construction workers, and since 1992 the leading cause of nonfatal injuries in the construction industry. Through an effort coordinated by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Construction Sector Council, CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training is hosting the first National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents during National Work Zone Awareness Week



Join us for a Virtual Stand-Down:


free, 1-hour “Virtual National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents – Q&A Panel” is scheduled for April 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM (Eastern).  Speakers will include representatives from NIOSH, American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), Laborers’ Health & Safety Fund of North America, Texas Department of Transportation, and Kraemer North America.  The panel will provide practical information that stakeholders can use on their job sites to prevent struck-by incidents, and  answer questions about struck-by hazards in work zones.
